Subway Station "U-Bahnhof Fehrbelliner Platz"

Restoration of the landmarked entrance hall building

In its original version, the subway station at Fehrbelliner Platz was constructed in 1913. In the course of remodeling for use as a line transfer station in 1968-1971, a new entrance hall was added. Thirty years later, reconstruction and restoration measures were urgently needed. A connection between the descending accesses to the two subway lines, which had previously been lacking in the entrance hall, was created, the semi-open zones which were no longer in use were enclosed and turned into rental space, and the entire exterior was renovated. False detailing, which had led to structural damage, was carefully corrected. Care was given to maintain the character of the entrance hall building as a testimony to its era.
